  • Clean the fish and make slits gently using a sharp knife. Drain the excess water using a paper towel and set aside.
  • Blend together all the ingredients given under 'to marinate' in a blender to form a fine thick paste. Do not add water while grinding.
  • Marinate the fish with this marinade and keep refrigerated for 15 minutes but preferably for 2 hours.
  • Preheat the oven to 200 degree C for 5 minutes. Now grease the grill with oil (it prevents sticking the fish to the grill).
  • Now place the marinated fish on the grill. Drizzle 1 tsp of oil over it. Place the grill on the middle rack of the oven.Cook it for 15 to 20 minutes at 200 degree C or until both sides are done. The grilling time depends upon the thickness of the fish. (You can also keep a baking tray under the grill to avoid the mess but if so you have to flip the fish after 10 minutes)
  • Serve hot along with lemon slices or chutney.
