  • Mix together the gram flour, chili powder and salt in a bowl.
  • Now add some water and make a thick batter without any lumps. Do not add more water. The consistency must be very thick.
  • Heat oil in a deep bottomed vessel.
  • When hot, dip each thinly sliced potato in this gram flour batter and put into the hot oil.
  • Fry both sides in a medium flame.
  • Drain the excess oil using tissue paper. Set aside.
  • Now we have to prepare the sauce gravy. Heat a wok with 1 tbsp oil .
  • Combine tomato sauce, soy sauce, sugar and chili powder in a bowl.
  • Add this sauce to the oil along with some water and whem it starts to boil add the fried potato slices and mix well.
  • Cook for few minutes and garnish with coriander leaves.
  • If you want more gravy you can add sauces and corn flour mixed water accordingly. As it is stir fried version this will be less gravy.
