STUFFED FISH WITH CHEESE TOPPING / MEEN NIRACHATH











INGREDIENTS
Fish                                                  - 2 nos,Tilapia ( pomfret)
Shredded cheese                              - 2 tbsp (optional)
Oil for frying

FOR THE FISH MARINATION

Kashmiri chilli powder                    -3 tbsp
Turmeric powder                             - 1 tsp
All purpose flour / Maida                - 4 tbsp
Lemon juice                                     - 3 tsp
Salt

FOR THE STUFFING

Onion                                             -1, finely chopped
Tomato                                          - 1 , small, finely chopped
Pepper powder                             - 1 tsp
Coconut grated                             - 4 tbsp , crushed in the mixer
Garam masala powder                 - half tsp
Ginger garlic crushed                   - 1 tbsp
Salt
PREPARATION

  • Saute all the ingredients given under stuffing in 1 tsp oil and keep it aside.
  • Now clean the fish well with vinegar and make slits over its body. 
  • Make a cut and open the stomach of the fish and slit open length wise . Do not cut the open. Keep it aside.
  • Make a fine thick paste with the ingredients given under fish marination.
  • And then marinate the fish with that thick paste and keep it refrigerated for 15 minutes.
  • Now take the marinated fish out and stuff the fish with the sauteed ingredients very well and close the open with the marinated paste.

  • Heat oil in a pan and shallow fry both sides of the fish for till crispy in a medium flame only.
  • When the fish is almost done , put some  grated / shredded cheese over it ( only one side) and close the pan with a lid  for few minutes in a low flame.
  • Do not flip the fish after putting the cheese.

  • Add some chopped coriander and when the cheese melts remove from the flame.
  • Serve hot.
