CAULIFLOWER RECIPES - CAULIFLOWER PEPPERFRY


It is a great pleasure to share vegetables recipes that our kids love to eat.  This is a super tasty vegetarian side dish that goes perfect with chapati, steamed rice or bread. A delicious stir fry made with cauliflower florets that you can have on the table in 20 minutes. This healthy cauliflower recipes is a Kerala staple. Most of the kids dislikes eating vegetables but they ask for cauliflower without eve  compelling. This versatile vegetable not only offers a wide range of cooking experiments but also is an excellent source of vitamin c, source of dietary fiber for digestive health, plays important role in brain development, has anti cancer properties etc. As this vegetable is versatile, it can be used in lot many ways. Like cauliflower soups, cauliflower salads, curried cauliflower ,cauliflower stir fry , cauliflower pepper fry, aloo gobi, gobi lollipop, gobi chilli etc. Today am sharing a pepper cauliflower recipe and is very difficult to resist its roasted sensation. So here is a peppery treat for all veggie lovers, especially kids who love stir fried cauliflower recipes. INGREDIENTS

Cauliflower / gobi          - 1, small, make florets
Garlic cloves                  - 3 cloves, chopped 
Tomato                           - 1, small, chopped
Onion                              - 1, small, chopped
Green chilies                   - 1, slit
Turmeric powder             - half tsp
Chili powder                    - 1 tsp
Coriander powder            - 1 tbsp
Pepper powder                 - 1 tsp + 1 tsp (finally)
Salt
Curry leaves
Oil

PREPARATION











  • Wash and blanch cauliflower into florets. Set aside. (you can soak cauliflower florets in quarter tsp of turmeric powder which is more preferred and then drain the water)
  • Heat oil in a wok or pan.
  • Saute chopped garlic for a while. Then add chopped onion, curry leaves, green chili and chopped tomato. Cook it well until tomato turns mushy. 
  • When done, add coriander powder, chili powder, turmeric powder, pepper powder and salt. Mix well, add a dash of water and then cook it for a couple of minutes over a medium flame. 
  • Once done, add the blanched cauliflower and combine very well.
  • Cook it covered until cauliflower florets are done and turns golden slightly over a medium flame stirring in between. 
  • Once done, sprinkle 1 tsp of pepper powder and mix well. Remove from heat and garnish with chopped coriander leaves.
